Kern Medical Vice President Lisa Hockersmith provides strategic oversight of Human Resources. She develops and implements strategies and programs to attract, develop and retain a skilled workforce for delivering top-quality patient care to Kern County residents.
She has over 20 years of experience in Human Resources in industries including health care, oil and gas, banking, and media. Hockersmith specializes in staffing and recruitment; rewards program administration including compensation planning, benefits administration, and work-life issues; employee and labor relations; employee communications; leadership development; and training.
Previously, she held positions as Organizational Capability Advisor for Chevron, Human Resources Director at Managed Care Systems/GEMcare Health Plan; Office Administrator for Central Valley Occupational Medical Group; and Benefits Specialist for Catholic Healthcare West.
She is a Certified Professional in Human Resources and a Certified Compensation Professional and is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and the American Society for Healthcare Human Resources Administration (ASHHRA).
Hockersmith also operates a small livestock ranch where she breeds and sells livestock and performs basic veterinary care.
