Tonya has over 16 years of nursing experience, with 13 of those years as Director of Surgical Services. She also holds a M.S. degree in Nursing Leadership and Management. She is proficient in areas such as, strategic planning, program development, lean process improvement, building high performing teams, improving workplace culture, and managing multi-site, multi-specialty departments. She is skilled in collaborating with all members of the medical, clinical and executive community to provide the highest standard of care. She has proven leadership skills with an emphasis on focus, results-oriented outcomes and demonstrated willingness to take initiative in a constantly changing environment.

Tonya has proven to be highly successful at developing new service lines, programs, and patient-centered cultures which have resulted in strong employee, patient, and physician satisfaction. She is a true leader that promotes departmental excellence through effective training, professional development and staff engagement.

Tonya, a Bakersfield native, is highly experienced and well-regarded healthcare leader within the surgical realm. Tonya previously served as the Multi-site Administrative Director of Surgical Services for Adventist Health Kern County, which included overseeing Delano, Tehachapi and Bakersfield facilities, bringing many years of leadership experience to Kern Medical.
