Program Structure

PGY-1: Mandatory Learning Experiences:

Longitudinal Learning Experiences:

  • Longitudinal Administration
  • Longitudinal Hospital Practice

  • CE/Inservice presentations

The majority of the year will be spent in required learning Learning Experiences but the resident has 8 weeks available for 2 electives. Generally these come at the end of the year but can be earlier depending on the resident's interests.

  • Cardiology
  • Emergency Medicine
  • Oncology
  • Psychiatry

PGY-2: Required Learning Experiences:

The PGY2 program is designed to immerse the resident in block learning experiences followed by a longitudinal component. This allows the resident to take the skills they learned in the initial block and reinforce and apply them over time while also navigating the other longitudinal experiences. The first half of the residency will be focused on clinical skills and the second half will be focused on administrative skills.

Elective Learning Experiences: The majority of the year will be spent in required Learning Experiences. There will be flexibility in the schedule in the second half of the program based on resident interests and needs of the program.
