About Dr. Aboeed
Dr. Ayham Aboeed, MD is a board-certified internal medicine, critical care medicine and pulmonary disease specialist at Kern Medical.
He is skilled in diagnostic and interventional bronchoscopy, endobronchial ultrasound, and interventional pulmonology. He treats a wide range of illnesses including lung cancer, COPD, asthma, pleural diseases, pulmonary infectious diseases, tuberculosis, Valley Fever, pulmonary vascular diseases and acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS).
He received his medical degree from Al-Baath University Faculty of Medicine in Homs, Syria and was Chief Resident for internal medicine at Mount Sinai School of Medicine/St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson, N.J. He holds fellowships in Critical Care Medicine from the St. Louis University School of Medicine and in Pulmonary Disease from Seton Hall University School of Health and Medical Sciences in South Orange, N.J.
At Seton Hall, he won the First Prize Award in Clinical Investigation at the 25thAnniversary Dr. George Perez Research Colloquium in 2014. He was named Outstanding Preceptor at the New York Medical College, Department of Medicine.
Dr. Aboeed isn Assistant Professor at UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine. He is director of procedural medicine and the Simulation Lab at Kern Medical. He was a clinical instructor at St. George’s University, holds certifications in ATLS, ACLS and BLS, and offers services in both English and Arabic. Dr. Aboeed has contributed numerous publications on a wide range of topics related to emphysema, COPD, acute respiratory failure, and asthma therapy.
He is a member of the American Thoracic Society (ATS), American College of Chest Physician (ACCP), and the American Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM). In his free-time he enjoys playing tennis, soccer, swimming, reading, meeting new people, and spending time with friends.
