About Dr. Molla
Mohammed Molla, MD, DFAPA is a Health Sciences Associate Clinical Professor and the Department Vice Chair of Psychiatry and Biobehavioral Sciences at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. Dr. Molla is also the Joint Chair for the Department of Psychiatry at Kern Medical and Kern Behavioral Health and Recovery Services. He has been serving Kern County in a different capacity since 2005. He is board-certified in General Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry through the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Moreover, Dr. Molla is a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association because of his significant contributions to the psychiatric profession, clinical excellence, and service to the community.
He has received many awards and recognition for his excellence in teaching, and for his community service as a psychiatrist. He contributed to improving patient care as well as residents and fellows learning by adding specialty services in psychiatry. His contribution in academic research includes a publication in a peer-reviewed article and online books chapters, along with many abstract presentations in national and regional conferences. Additionally, his team actively recruited and retained psychiatry residents and fellows after their graduation in Kern County and in the central valley during his tenure as the Joint Chair of Psychiatry.
