Moh'd Sbeih, MD,FACS,FASMBS

About Dr. Sbeih

Dr. Sbeih is a Board-Certified general surgeon specializes in Minimally Invasive Surgery and Robotic Bariatric Surgery. He serves as the Director of Bariatric Surgery at Kern Medical.

Dr. Sbeih earned his medical degree at The University of Jordan, and subsequently completed postdoctoral research fellowship in Minimally Invasive Surgery at Harvard Medical School in Boston, his general surgery residency was at Columbia University Harlem Hospital Program in New York City. He also completed a fellowship council accredited training in Advanced Gastrointestinal/MIS and Bariatric Surgery at Long Island Laparoscopic Surgery Program. Dr. Sbeih is a highly accomplished surgeon with strong academic and clinical background. He is a fellow of The American College of Surgeons and a diplomate of the American Board of Surgery. He is a member of the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES), the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS), and the International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic disorders (IFSO). Prior to moving to the west coast with his family, he has served as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pennsylvania.

Dr. Sbeih has completed an advanced clinical fellowship training at a center of excellence in robotic and bariatric surgery, his expertise extends to minimally invasive surgery techniques in general and bariatric surgery, he works closely with his patients throughout the weight loss journey. Beside his passion in the life changing metabolic and bariatric surgery field, Dr. Sbeih also treats foregut diseases such as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and hiatal hernias, gallbladder diseases and abdominal wall hernias, he also performs surgical endoscopy.

He has contributed to both clinical practice and academic research, he has published and presented his work at national and international surgical meetings. His work in Natural Orifice Translumenal Endoscopic Surgery (NOTES) has been particularly impactful, reflecting his commitment to advancing surgical techniques and Minimally Invasive Surgery.

Throughout his career, Dr. Sbeih has gained extensive clinical experience, from practicing in diverse settings in the United States, including New York, Kentucky, and Pennsylvania. He is fluent in both Arabic and English and brings a culturally informed approach to patient care. His commitment to continuous learning and patient care is evident in his contributions to the field of surgery.
