About Dr. Thayapran

Dr. Nallathamby Thayapran, a board-certified staff cardiologist with expertise in cardiovascular disease, internal medicine, nuclear cardiology, endovascular cardiology, vascular cardiology and interventional cardiology and is qualified in a wide range of sophisticated procedural skills.

Previously he served at Comprehensive Cardiovascular Medical Group Inc. in Bakersfield.

Dr. Thayapran has a private practice in interventional and general cardiology and holds hospital appointments at Kern Medical, Bakerfield Heart Hospital, Bakersfield Memorial Hospital, Delano Regional Medical Center, HealthSouth Bakersfield Rehabilitation Hospital, Mercy Hospital and San Joaquin Community Hospital.

He is board-certified in cardiovascular disease, endovascular medicine, vascular medicine, internal medicine, and nuclear cardiology. He has practiced cardiology at hospitals in San Bernardino, Hemet, Stockton and Ashland, Ky.

He attended medical school at the University of Colombo in Sri Lanka, with additional training at the University of Colombo and in the United Kingdom. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Nassau County Medical Center at State University of New York-Stony Brook. He also completed his fellowship in cardiology there, and a fellowship in interventional cardiology at Winthrop University Hospital, Long Island.

His work has appeared in numerous publicationns and abstract presentations. He speaks English, Spanish and Tamil.
