Tarun Rustagi, MD

About Dr. Rustagi

Tarun Rustagi, MD, is a board-certified interventional gastroenterologist who has been caring for patients since 2006. As a therapeutic gastroenterologist, Dr. Rustagi specializes in endoscopic management of benign and malignant diseases of the digestive system — which includes the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine, rectum, pancreas, liver, bile ducts and gallbladder.
Dr. Rustagi earned his medical school degree with a gold medal from the Maulana Azad Medical College at University of Delhi, New Delhi, India. He completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Connecticut in Farmington where he was also selected as a chief medical resident. He received his gastroenterology fellowship training at Yale University in New Haven, CT, followed by an advanced therapeutic endoscopy fellowship training at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.


Highly specialized in providing comprehensive gastroenterological care and performing advanced complex interventional endoscopic procedures, he has successfully helped patients suffering from bile duct stones, acute and chronic pancreatitis, bile duct and pancreatic cancers, esophageal diseases, colon cancer, and many other diseases of the digestive tract. He has been actively involved in clinical research and has over 250 peer-reviewed publications with the goal to improve treatments for these conditions including interventional endoscopy and endoscopic oncology.
He is fluent in English and Hindi.
