What:
Kern Medical is hosting the 5th Annual Kern County Perinatal Symposium, held Friday, March 3, 2017. The yearly initiative was developed as a multi-disciplinary conference to improve perinatal education and outcomes. Presentations will focus on the Zika virus, congenital syphilis in the Central Valley, infectious disease, preterm births, March of Dimes interventions and human trafficking.
Speakers include:
- Denise Smith, PHN, MPA: Director of Disease Control for Kern County
- Dr. Mhaissen, Valley Children’s Hospital
- Dr. Alvarez-Jacinto, Kern Medical
Dr. Alvarez-Jacinto joined Kern Medical in 2016. He has over 30 years of experience as an OB-GYN specialist, is a member of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and is a published researcher.
The event’s planning committee consists of local hospitals, the Kern County Health Department, March of Dimes and the California Health Collaborative.
Kern Medical is offering Continuing Education Units (CEUs) and Continuing Medical Units (CMEs) for qualified healthcare professionals.
