Kern Medical Celebrates Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for New Labor and Delivery Unit
Where: Kern Medical, 1700 Mount Vernon Avenue, 4th Floor
When: September 13th, 2017, 10:00 AM
09/11/2017 – Kern Medical is proud to announce the completion of an extensive remodel of the Labor and Delivery unit at the Hospital at 1700 Mount Vernon Avenue.
The remodel entailed a floor to ceiling overhaul including infrastructure upgrades, which completely changed the space’s aesthetics to welcome thousands of brand new babies to Kern County every year.
“The colors and themes are beautiful. The natural atmosphere was created to give mothers a feeling of peace and tranquility while they wait to deliver their baby.” Says Marinda Du Toit, Clinical Director of Maternal-Child Department at Kern Medical.
From new flooring, to paint, to artwork, to furniture, the Labor and Delivery Unit remodel has been a much welcomed change for the 150-year-old institution.
In addition to the décor, a state of the art nurses station has been added including a digital board that updates an expectant mother’s progress in real time.
“It really is a great change for us, to watch as our staff tracks everything that happens throughout the birth process. We couldn’t be happier with this technology.” Says Du Toit.
Local leaders, hospital administration, staff and friends of Kern Medical will be on hand to celebrate this momentous occasion. The media is encouraged to attend.
